Gerald V. Gilmartin, Sr., 86, Of Cortlandt Manor. WWII Veteran

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. - Gerald V. Gilmartin, Sr. of Cortlandt Manor died Dec. 9. He was 86.

Gilmartin was born Jan. 9, 1927, in Bronx, to James and Ellen (Riordan) Gilmartin. He served the country during World War II. He worked as a public relations executive in a career that spanned over 40 years. He was a communicant at St. Columbanus Church for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; sons, Kevin James (Judi), Timothy Patrick (Beth), Brendan Thomas (Gloria), Brian, Thomas (Margaret), and Gerald, Jr. (Linda) Gilmartin;12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Donald Gilmartin; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Thursday, Dec. 12 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Dorsey-Carlone Funeral Home, 1100 Cortlandt St., Peekskill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13 at St. Columbanus Church, Cortlandt Manor, followed by interment in Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
