Emilio 'Dee' DaBramo, 91, Dies At Montrose Veterans Home

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Former Mamaroneck Village Trustee Emilio “Dee” DaBramo passed away on Friday, Nov. 14 at the New York State Veterans Home at Montrose. He was 91 years old.

DaBramo was born in Lucito, Italy on Feb. 17, 1923 and came to the United States through Ellis Island with his parents when he was 3 years old. 

After graduating from Pawling High School, DaBramo served in the 458th Air Corps, and was stationed in Europe during World War II working as a radio operator for 33 missions in a B-24 bomber over France and Germany. 

After the war ended, DaBramo attended Cortland State Teachers College (now SUNY Cortland) and became the school's first All-American soccer player. He graduated in 1948. 

DaBramo went on to teach at several school districts in New York including: Amenia, Brockport, Scarsdale,  Mamaroneck, Gilboa, and Andes.

DaBramo served in two elected positions, one as a Village Trustee for Mamaroneck and as the Town Supervisor in Conesville, N.Y.

DaBramo is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Josephine(Franchescini); two sisters, Sarah  “Sadie” Casey and Aida Stevens; and his first wife, Celeste. 

He is survived by his four children: Michael (Miriam) of Geneseo, Debra Buckley (Willard) of Yuma,  Ariz., Michele O’Malley (Christopher) of Mamaroneck, and James (MaryBeth) of Scarsdale.

DaBramo is also survived by five grandchildren, James Buckley, Michele Buckley, Lisbeth DaBramo, Michael Dee DaBramo, and Maggie O’Malley along with his second wife, Naomi Simmons Weiner and several nieces and nephews.
