Douglas C. Miller, 95, Former Verplanck Resident

VERPLANCK, N.Y. - Douglas C. Miller, formerly of Verplanck and the Bronx, died July 5. He was 95.

Miller was born Jan. 10, 1918, in Peekskill, son of Frank and Fannie (nee Paulding) Miller. He served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1946. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1030 - William J. Boyle. He was also a member of the Verplanck Senior Citizens. He worked for many years later in housekeeping at the FDR Veterans Hospital in Montrose.

Miller is survived by his daughter, Carol Ann (Fred) Meyhoeffer of Cape Coral, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Gladys; brothers, William and John Miller; and sister, Lurcretia Conklin.

Calling hours are Monday, July 8 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Peekskill, where a Funeral Service will be offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, followed by interment with military honors at the Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
