Balascio was born in the Bronx on Dec. 12, 1940, to Anthony and Catherine Balascio. He was a veteran of the U.S, Army.
He married Ann Ferri on Nov. 3, 1963. He worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company until his retirement in 1992.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Catherine, and Stephanie Balascio-Koenig and her husband Jon.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Louise and Theresa.
Visiting hours will be at the Yorktown Funeral Home on Friday and Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at Holy Spirit Church starting at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
