Tuesday, July 31

Harry Potter Birthday Party 4:30 p.m. Come dressed as your favorite Harry Potter character and make butter beer, potions and elixirs. This event is free and is suitable for tweens and teens. Please register with the Hendrick Hudson Free Library, 185 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose. 914-739-5654.

Cortlandt Planning Board Meeting A regular Cortlandt Planning Board meeting will take place at 7 p.m., at Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady St., Cortlandt Manor. The board will likely take legislative action on current development in the town.

Outdoor Movie Series, "Toy Story 3" 7:30 p.m. The toys are back on the outdoor big screen, as Andy departs for college and the toys find themselves in day care. This event takes place in Croton's Senasqua Park, at dusk. Admission is free for Croton residents, and families are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs.

Cortlandt Planning Board Work Session The Cortlandt Planning Board will meet to discuss current development in the town, no legislative action will likely be taken. The meeting will take place at Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady St., Cortlandt Manor.

Hen Hud Reads: "The Call of the Wind" 7 p.m. Hen Hud Reads is for anyone who does not want to commit to a monthly discussion group and wants to read and share a great book. Join your friends and library staff for an in-depth discussion of Jack London’s classic, "The Call of the Wild."
