LARCHMONT, N.Y. — Arrangements have been made for Larchmont Police Capt. Thomas Sullivan and his wife and two daughters, who died in a house fire Tuesday morning, according to the Larchmont Police Department.

The wake will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Balsamo-Cordovano Funeral Home in Carmel, according to an announcement by Larchmont Police Chief John Poleway.

A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. James the Apostle Parish in Carmel.  Local officials said they expect a large crowd at the service.

The village is also considering using the May 24 Memorial Day Parade to pay tribute to Sullivan, said Mayor Anne McAndrews.

"It's certainly a thought that's floating out there," she said.

The first-term mayor added that Sullivan played an active role in organizing past Memorial Day parades, along with most events in the village.

"Anyone who had anything to do with the village and events here, they talked to Tommy Sullivan," McAndrews said.

Capt. John Caparelli of the Larchmont Fire Department helped raise a bunting, or a memorial flag, above the Police Department's front door Tuesday afternoon.

"He was always part of every event in the village," said Caparelli.

The village issued the following statement Wednesday morning:

"It is with deep sorrow that Chief John G. Poleway announces the untimely passing of an active member of the service:

On May 1, 2012, this department received notification from the Town of Carmel Police Department that a fast moving fire had engulfed the residence of Captain Thomas J. Sullivan, and that he along with three members of his family had succumbed to injuries and passed away."
