SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Residents have less than two weeks to register to vote in the upcoming March 20 elections.
The last day to register is March 9, according to the Westchester County Board of Elections. To be eligible to vote, residents must be U.S. citizens, 18 years or older by the day of the election, live at their present address for at least 30 days before the election and not be in jail or on parole for a felony conviction.
Residents can also sign up to serve as poll workers. The Board of Elections notes on its website that “We are especially in need of poll inspectors who are proficient in both English and Spanish.”
Poll workers must be at least 18-years-old and a registered voter in Westchester County. Volunteers will work from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the day of the election.
An application is available on the Board of Elections website. Volunteers will be required to take a training class.
