Teens From Cortlandt, Yorktown Charged In JV Mall Incident

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – A 17-year-old Yorktown male and an 18-year-old Cortlandt male whose names are being withheld due to their possible eligibility for youthful offender status have been charged with criminal possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor on Thursday, Feb. 12, according to Yorktown police.

Police said an officer was investigating a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of Jefferson Valley Mall when he observed the male youths in a gray 2005 Toyota openly smoking marijuana. Both males were placed under arrest and processed at the Yorktown police department.

The males were issued appearance tickets to appear on Thursday, March 12 at 6 p.m. in the Yorktown Justice Court for arraignment.
