Statewide Job Fairs Kick Off in White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - The first of 11 state-sponsored job fairs will kick off in the White Plains Public Library at 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the job fairs, which are part of National Job Fair month, Tuesday.

Some of the two dozen employers scheduled to be at the White Plains event include the New York State Police, the U.S. Postal Service and CVS Pharmacy. The fair will run through 4 p.m.

Statewide, the fairs will bring together 375 employers with about 10,000 open positions.

"As we work to get New York's economy back on track, these job fairs will help connect unemployed New Yorkers to job opportunities in communities across the state, from New York City to Buffalo," Cuomo said.
