Sandy Hook Trauma Still Difficult To Deal With On Second Anniversary

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – As the remembrance of the Sandy Hook mass shooting falls across the U.S. on its second anniversary today, the NY Daily News reports the effects of the massacre are still felt deeply in Newtown, Conn.

Alcoholism, insomnia, depression and guilt are only a handful of the problems dealt with over the past two years after an armed man entered the school on Dec. 14 2012, and killed 20 first-graders and six adults, along with his own mother.

According to the report, officials in Connecticut aren’t only addressing the immediate needs, but are looking to the future – the next 15 years – to create long-term support for the students as they grow into adults.
