“These changes are in anticipation of providing the best service to ensure your safety,” said the release. “There will be extra trains during the early afternoon to help customers return home.”

As a result of extra early trains and increasingly inclement weather, fewer trains will run during the peak night hours.

“Train combinations and cancellations are possible at any time, but increase in likelihood as the evening progresses to prevent trains from becoming stranded during the storm,” the release said.

A regular schedule will be in effect until noon. Between noon and 8 p.m. Metro-North will operate a revised schedule, the release said.

Five extra trains will leave from Grand Central Terminal on the Hudson Line between 1:46 p.m. and 5:34, while the regularly scheduled 5:57 and 6:20 trains to the Croton-Harmon station plus the 6:12 to Poughkeepsie will not run.

On the Harlem Line, four extra trains will leave Grand Central between 1:45 p.m. and 4:08 p.m. The regularly scheduled 5:25 to Brewster, 5:54 to Crestwood, 6:02 to Wassaic and 7:27 to North White Plains will not run.

Twelve extra trains will depart from Grand Central on the New Haven Line between 12:04 p.m. and 6:02 p.m. Canceled trains include the 5:36 p.m., 6:38 and 7:11 to Harrison; 6:17 to Bridgeport, Conn.; and 8:04 to New Haven, Conn.

Metro-North urged its customers to check the revised schedules on the Hudon, Harlem, and New Haven lines.
