Metro-North Adds Extra Trains In Westchester For Super Bowl Events

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester County residents who don't have a ticket to the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 2, can still experience all of the events during Super Bowl Week in Manhattan with help from Metro-North, which is scheduling  additional trains on the New Haven, Hudson and Harlem Lines.

“The first-ever Super Bowl to be played in the New York region promises to be an exciting time for all football fans,” Howard Permut, president of MTA Metro-North Railroad said in a statement. “We’re hoping to make it as easy and convenient as possible for fans from all the cities and towns served by Metro-North to be a part of this historic experience.”

Here is a list of schedule changes for the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines that will be in effect from Wednesday, Jan. 29 through Friday, Jan. 31. 

Hudson Line

Metro-North will run an extra express train departing Poughkeepsie at 9:47 a.m. and making stops at New Hamburg, Beacon, Peekskill, Croton-Harmon and Harlem-125th Street and arriving at Grand Central Terminal at 11:25 a.m. This train is shaded light green in current timetables effective Jan. 18.

Harlem Line

An extra semi-express train will depart Southeast at 10:08 a.m. and make stops at Brewster, Goldens Bridge, Katonah, Mount Kisco, Chappaqua, Pleasantville, North White Plains and Harlem-125th Street and arriving at Grand Central at 11:31 a.m.

New Haven Line

The New Haven line will run two extra express trains. Heading toward New York City, a train will depart New Haven at 9:21 a.m. and make stops at West Haven, Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport and Harlem-125th Street arriving at Grand Central at 10:59 a.m.

Returning to Connecticut, an extra train will depart Grand Central at 11:11 p.m. and will stop at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, Fairfield, Fairfield Metro, Bridgeport, Stratford, Milford, and West Haven and arrive at New Haven at 12:56 a.m.

Metro-North will also run 17 additional New Haven Line trains and two additional Hudson Line trains on Saturday, Feb. 1.
