Mahopac Residents On Lookout For Restaurant Banner Bandits

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Area residents are on the lookout after three brazen thieves made off with a banner touting Frankie's Waffles & Burgers on Route 6 for its Daily Voice's DVLicious victory as Best Soup in Putnam County.

Frankie's husband-and-wife owners Frank and Carina Evangelista mounted a large banner proclaiming the win outside of the Route 6 restaurant.

Surveillance cameras caught the thieves in action swiping the banner late Saturday night, and now police and residents are trying to assist in bringing the culprits to justice.
