Lockout Lifted At Peekskill Schools After Shooting Reported In Area

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The lockout issued for Peekskill City Schools following reports of a shooting in the vicinity Wednesday has been lifted.

Superintendent of Schools Larry Licopoli said he received an all clear by the Peekskill Police and that students will be dismissed as usual.

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- A lockout has been issued for Peekskill City Schools following reports of a shooting in the vicinity on Wednesday.

"No one can come in or out of the schools until further notice," Superintendent of Schools Larry Licopoli said in a statement posted on the district's website. "The safety and welfare of our children and staff are our priority. I will advise you immediately when the lockout is lifted."

Licopoli said he was advised by Peekskill Police that an alleged shooting occurred in the vicinity.

The gunshots reportedly were fired at North and Division streets. No injuries were reported.
