HVHC said that its Board of Directors has voted unanimously to pursue the affiliation, Victoria Hochman, HVHC's marketing and public relations, told Daily Voice late Monday afternoon.

"This new relationship would improve the already high level of healthcare practiced at our hospital and provide HVHC with the resources, leading edge technology and medical expertise to  continue serving the community for many years to come," HVHC said in a brief statement provided to Daily Voice by Hochman.

NewYork-Presbysterian is also a partner with Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, which is now known as NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital.

Mergers, acquisitions and partnerships within the hospital sector have been occurring at a rapid pace this year.

The latest prior to Hudson Valley Hospital Center and New York Presbyterian occurred when Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco announced on June 5 that it signed a letter of intent to join North Shore-LIJ Health System on June 5.

A month earlier, Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow announced it is exploring a partnership with North Shore-LIJ.

White Plains Hospital announced it would become an affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center in February.
