Frank W. Jenerose, 88, Montrose

MONTROSE, N.Y. – Frank W. Jenerose, 88, of Montrose, died on Dec. 2. Jenerose was an army veteran who served on D-Day, a past president of the Hendrick Hudson Lions Club, and an accomplished piano player.

Jenerose was born in Buchanan in February of 1923. He served in the Seventh Army Chemical Warfare on Utah Beach, on D-Day. Utah Beach was the Western most beach of five French beaches invaded on June 6, 1944.

He was a self-employed skilled mason for many years, and supervised the construction of the Grotto in St. Patrick’s Church in Verplanck. He was also a member of Our Lady Mount Carmel.

He is survived by his wife Mary (Radassao) Jenerose, daughters Valerie (Louis) Mazzucca and Nancy (Gregory) Turrone, grandsons, Gregory and Matthew Turrone and Christopher Mazzucca, sisters, Julie Goss and Rosalie Moraitis. He was predeceased by his brother Anthony.

Reposing will take place Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Cortlandt Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Verplanck. Interment will follow at the Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Cortlandt Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
