Four Croton Players Selected for All-State Team

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Croton High School’s Jesse Mainiero, John Brennan and Kyle Ricciardi were first-team selections and teammate Dennis O’Connell a second-team choice for the New York State Sportswriters Association 2011 All-State Football teams announced in Classes, B, C and D Wednesday.

Mainiero was the quarterback for the 11-1 Tigers who were Class B Section 1 and State Regional champs before falling in the Class B state championship game. Brennan was a star two-way lineman and Ricciardi a defensive standout at linebacker.

Bronxville High School running back Christian Conway was named the Class C Player of the Year.
