Flash Freezing Possible Later Monday In Cortlandt

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Snow and freezing rain will continue to fall throughout Westchester County on Monday, creating treacherous travel conditions.

As the temperature drops into the single digits during the evening hours, flash freezing could become a problem.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. Monday.

Snow will mix with freezing rain before 3 p.m. on Monday before changing over freezing rain and sleet in the afternoon. Daytime ice accumulations could reach up to half an inch. There could also be an additional 3-7 inches of snow as well. 

Precipitation will exit the area in the evening and leave bitter cold in its wake, with lows around 7 degrees and wind chills expected to be well below zero. 

Tuesday will be mostly sunny, but temperatures will only rebound into the low 20s. 

Snow showers could threaten the area again on Wednesday after 10 a.m. High temperatures are expected to be around 34. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. 

Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 27 with a small chance of a lingering snow shower in the morning. 

Friday will be mostly sunny with a high in the low 20s.
