Customers Threaten to Shoot Best Buy Employees

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – Westchester County police received a report from Cortlandt Town Center Best Buy employees that two customers threatened to shoot them if they did not accept the return of a flat screen TV the pair purchased.

Westchester County Police say Best Buy employees denied a refund to two customers for a flat screen TV that was damaged after it was purchased, just after 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon. When the employees denied the two customers, police report that the pair became irate with the employees, and threatened to return and shoot the employees.

The pair left when Westchester County police arrived at Best Buy.

In other police news:

Tuesday, Nov. 29 – 9:12 a.m. – Westchester County police responded to an activated burglar alarm at a home on Theresa Lane.  An officer determined the alarm had malfunctioned and there was no break-in.

1:45 p.m. – A resident of East Main Street reported to Westchester County police that someone slashed two tires on his car while it was parked near his home.  The vandalism occurred sometime after 9 p.m. the night before.  The victim reported that a similar incident occurred two months ago but he did not report it to police at that time.

Wednesday, Nov. 30 – 2:32 p.m. – County police responded to a minor accident involving two cars that occurred near the Dress Barn store in the Cortlandt Town Center. No one was injured.

Thursday, Dec. 1 – 3:28 p.m. – A resident of Upland Lane reported to Westchester County police that a delivery truck that mistakenly pulled into her driveway damaged a number of Belgian block paving stones that line her driveway.  She discovered the damage after the truck left and asked for a report to be filed to document the incident.
