The pageant will be at 4 p.m., Saturday at the White Plains Performing Arts Center.
“I am incredibly grateful and elated about the opportunity to represent the County of Westchester,” said Agee, of Cortlandt Manor, in a prepared statement. “The journey has been a rewarding experience thus far, and I look forward to the transformation I will make and can make as a contestant, and hopefully, as a queen.”
Agee, 25, is a media planner at Zenith Optimedia in New York City. In 2010, she graduated from Spelman College in Atlnata with a bachelor's degree in economics. At Spelman, Agee was a student-athlete and currently is continuing her passion for sports, seeking a master's degree in the sports management program at Columbia University where she will graduate in May, 2014.
Agee also is a member of the Zeta Nu Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and is active in the community service wing of the organization. Agee also serves as co-founder of the Tommie Agee Foundation, which raises money through an annual golf tournament to support national charities, such as the American Heart Association, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Habitat for Humanity, as well as local charities, such as the Foundation for Sight and Sound and the Turtle Bay Music School.
“From a young age, my parents emphasized the importance of selfless service, and ever since, I have chosen to work for the greater good of humanity.” she said in the statement.
Each Miss Westchester & Miss Hudson Valley Pageant contestant will be judged in swimsuit, evening gown and personal interview categories. The winner will receive gifts and prizes including a $1,000 cash.
