CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- The town of Cortlandt recently announced it was able to pave all of its roads and repair all sidewalks using the town's highway fund and required no borrowing or bonding to complete any projects.
The town spent $2.5 million on road repairs in 2014 out of an account balance of $3 million. Town officials say the ability to complete projects without any outside funding is what keeps the municipality's debt relatively low.
Paving and resurfacing projects began in September and are expected to be completed by early November at the latest.
