Horne joined Field Home in 1989, replacing his father Harold Horne on the Holy Comforter’s Board. He dedicated 25 years as Fieldhome vice president and treasurer of the Catharine Field Home Board.

In 1995, Horne was among the original board members for the Catharine Field Home and oversaw the development and construction of the home’s assisted living facility The Seabury at Fieldhome, 2276 Catherine St., Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.

The Saratoga, N.Y., resident is a relative of Field Home founder Cortlandt de Peyster Field, who founded The Field Home, now Field Hall, in 1887.

An historian, writer and editor, Horne was instrumental in organizing and archiving Fieldhome’s history.
