“We acknowledge and honor the Village of Buchanan for their spirit of cooperation," said Vice Flotilla Commander Charles Fitzpatrick. "The Village offers a location for our U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla to hold meetings and Boat Safety training classes throughout the year. We area very grateful to Buchanan Mayor Theresa Knickerbocker and the Village Trustees for allowing us to continue to provide these services to the community."

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary urges all boaters to take advantage of boat safety classes in order to ensure proper operation on the waterway. Classes are available to the public at a flotilla in the spring.
