Bramson Wins New Rochelle Mayor Race In Landslide

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y - New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson easily defeated Richard St. Paul in a landslide Tuesday, according to unofficial results from the Westchester County Board of Elections.

"I am honored and humbled to report that this is the biggest election victory in the history of New Rochelle," said Bramson.

Unofficial results with 77% of votes counted showed Bramson ahead of St. Paul by a nearly 5 to 1 margin.

Bramson acknowledged he was confident with the work he and the rest of his team could accomplish over the next four years. The Democrats also took control of the City Council, winning four of the six seats.

"We're ready to enter a time of difficulty with a team of responsible leaders that with commitment to political agendas are ready for our future," he said.

Bramson won a second four-year term after being appointed in 2007 to finish the term of former Mayor Timothy Idoni.

St. Paul gave up his Council seat in District 4 to attempt to oust Bramson.
