Bobcat Shot, Killed After Attacking Husband, Wife Upstate

A bobcat was shot dead after attacking a husband and wife in upstate New Scotland, leaving them both with deep cuts, according to multiple reports.

The Albany County Health Department said Friday the bobcat had rabies.

The couple went to a neighboring residence to borrow furniture for a garage sale when they were attacked by the bobcat, police said.The owner of the home was then able to pin the bobcat down with a chair before shooting and killing it.

The most recent bobcat sighting in the Hudson Valley occurred last week when Yorktown Police warned residents to stay alert after receiving a video of what appears to be large, dark colored bobcat in the vicinity of Baldwin Road. For more on that click here.
