CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- A group known as the Montrose Nine appeared outside Cortlandt Town Court on Friday to proclaim their innocence on disorderly conduct charges related to a Nov. 9 protest of the Algonquin pipeline, according to lohud.com.
The group was to appear in court later Friday. They have all pleaded not guilty to the criminal charges and denied accusations that they blocked the Montrose parking lot entrance to Spectra Entergy on Route 9A on Nov. 9 , as previously reported by Daily Voice.
One of the activists said that the group believed a disaster would occur if they failed to if the pipeline is expanded, according to lohud.com.
