CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Richard John Ross, 66, of Croton-on-Hudson, died April 22.
Ross was born Feb. 18, 1946 in New York City to John and Felicia Hess Ross. He grew up in Manhattan and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Von Steuben submarine from 1963-69. After leaving the Navy, he worked for NYNEX for 28 years. Ross then worked for ING, retiring as associate vice president.
An avid golfer, Ross was a faithful fan of the West Point Army football team. After marrying his wife, Ingrid, they enjoyed traveling together.
He is survived by his wife, Ingrid; a son, Rich; two daughters, Emily and Nicole; and a sister, Jeannie Sochet.
There will be a memorial service at 4 p.m. Thursday at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Croton-on-Hudson, with a reception following at 5:30 p.m. in the parish hall. Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, in Croton, is in charge of arrangements.
