Gardini, a 16-year-old Yonkers resident and student at Iona Prep in New Rochelle, has had immediate support from his uncle Rob McCarthy, aunt Sandra Frawley and the extended family with The “Prayers For Nicholas” Facebook page, which is up and running.

According to posts by family members on the website and Facebook page, donors who are not planning to attend the fundraiser may donate or purchase T-Shirts online.

"We ask for prayers that God will carry him and his parents as they journey to cure him of this disease. Thank you for your support," the family said.

The fundraiser/dinner is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at Kolping-on-Hudson, 95 Montrose Point Road, Montrose. The evening will include a disc jockey, dinner, silent auctions, 50/50 raffle and open bar, with proceeds going to the Gardini family for medical and travel expenses.

Tickets are priced at $100 and can be purchased via PayPal at Teamsupersonick@outlook.com (Note the number of dinner tickets or donation in the memo).

Checks can be sent to: Prayers for Nicholas, c/o Robert McCarthy, P. O. Box 801, Verplanck, N.Y. 10596. Make checks payable to Robert McCarthy and note number of tickets or donation in the check memo.
