Former Croton Cook, Eleanor Giusti, Dies at 90

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Eleanor A. Giusti, a resident of Croton-on-Hudson, died Jan. 15. She was 90.

Born Feb. 22, 1921, she was the daughter of Salvatore and Bricida Maresco. She worked as a cook for many years at the Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School in Croton-on-Hudson.

She married Thomas J. Giusti, who predeceased her in 1996. Mrs. Giusti was a parishioner and Eucharistic minister at Holy Name of Mary Church. She was also past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary in Croton.

She is survived by her son Thomas J. (Edith) Giusti, her daughters Linda R. (Peter) Konco and Patricia A. Mino, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Ellie Giusti in 2009.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home in Croton-on-Hudson. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at Holy Name of Mary Church, followed by interment in Bethel Cemetery in Croton-on-Hudson

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Name of Mary Church, 110 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520.
