"If you're from Croton and you are sick of eating every meal out, please join us for a free hot dinner together," organizers wrote in a message sent out through the village's public notification system.
The first free dinner will take place Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Croton's Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building, 1 Van Wyck St. Organizers are serving spaghetti, "good tomato sauce," vegetables, bread and butter, organic milk, juice and soft drinks.
Lions Club members will be available at the first pot luck dinner to speak with residents privately about how they may be able to help them.
A second pot luck dinner is scheduled Thursday, Nov. 8, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, 110 Grand St. Those wishing to attend who have a way to cook a meal should bring a dish. Attendees should enter from the back parking lot. The dinner will be held in the lower-level meeting rooms, and there will be a collection area in the church to drop off canned foods, dry goods and cleaning supplies.
