CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Croton-Harmon Education Foundation announced Tuesday that its Sept. 12 back-to-school fundraiser, "School's In – Eat Out!" surpassed last year's total, raising $1,600.

“This year’s ‘School’s In – Eat Out’ event was an unqualified success,” said foundation President Lisa Cohen. “I’d like to thank our community, as well as the local restaurants who participated, for helping us continue our efforts to fund academic programs, arts initiatives and technology innovations that go beyond the scope of traditional classroom learning.”

Restaurants that took part this year, and donated at least 10 percent of that night's checks to the Education Foundation, included Capriccio II, Cristina's, India House, Justin Thyme, Memphis Mae's, Samurai, The Tavern at Croton Landing, Tenampa and Umami. Save Mor Pharmacy donated decorations at half-cost.
