“Last year’s campaign was a great success,” said HVHC President John Federspiel, who will be participating once again this year. “This year is going to be even better with the new event website allowing participants to set up a personal fundraising page and donors to easily make online donations. We look forward to having local gentlemen participate in the challenge and for the community at large to sponsor them and join us," said Federspiel.

The event culminates April 1 with the Beard Bash at the Peekskill Brewery's taproom. Superlatives such as "Wildest Beard" and "Most Creative Fundraising Tactics" will be distributed.

Each participant should start clean-shaven on March 1 and snap a "before" photo. Photos of all participants will be posted on the HVHC Facebook page along with competition updates throughout the month.

The hospital has built a new website specifically for the event, allowing men to create a personalized fundraising page that allows participants to send out emails to their contacts and share with their social networks easily. Men can sign up to participate online at HVHC's website and create a personal page to support the furry-faced fundraiser.
