Cortlandt Celebrates Memorial Day Early With Patriotic Ceremony

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Veterans and residents joined elected leaders Friday afternoon to pay tribute to the nation's military sacrifices.

The town's Memorial Day Ceremony was held at the Morabito Community Center, and Supervisor Linda Puglisi and the Cortlandt Town Board were joined by Congresswoman Nita Lowey, Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, State Senator Greg Ball and county legislators John Testa and Catherine Borgia.

The special guest speaker for this year's event was U.S. Army Master Sergeant Debra Lucas, who talked of her service around the globe as an information officer.
