MAHOPAC, N.Y. - The idea at Sarah's House of Health is to bring a variety of wellness experts and services together - spiritual and physical - all under one roof.

Sarah Montgomery, a longtime Carmel resident, was always   involved with caring for or inspiring others - as a Girl Scout, Candy Striper, with high school service clubs, then as a physical therapist.

But then, she explains on her website, after 'growing up, a marriage, three kids and a 26-year career as a physical therapist,' she wasn't happy, and wanted something more.

She was inspired by a house she saw one day - and the wheels started turning.

"I thought... I really wanted to incorporate all the different areas of health and wellness," Montgomery told Daily Voice. "When I saw that house, I realized I could do it all in one space. Then I wanted the space to be the house... with all the different things in different areas."

Sarah's House of Health opened in late February, and under Sarah's roof, a number of health and wellness services are available. Her mission statement is to 'empower women to dream of a better life, and to provide them with the resources and support as they take action on that dream.'

Montgomery breaks wellness into seven categories - spiritual, emotional, environmental, physical, intellectual, financial and social. In the physical realm, Sarah's House of Health offers massage therapy with Christine Egan, Organic Skin Care with Daniela Hortencio and health, with Health Coach Sarah Montgomery. Spiritual services are provided by  Reverend Deena Angel (Healing Touch & More).

"Everyone's excited," Montgomery said. "The people who are with me bring in their own clientele. They all are their own separate businesses. But they all bring various specialties together under one roof."

Montgomery said response to 'The House' so far has been positive. "It's been great, we've had an amazing, positive response," she said. "And I'm ecstatic. It's been a lifelong dream to do something like this.

"A lot of it is about community... I didn't know these women until recently," she added. "I opened my heart to the universe, and all these people fell in. All the connections... it's been phenomenal the way it all worked out. I think it has unlimited potential. If it has  to do with health and wellness, we'd love you to be involved with Sarah's House of Health."

Sarah's House of Health is located at 900 South Lake Blvd, and can be reached at 845-661-7490. An official Grand Opening is scheduled for April 20.
