'American Idol' Finalist To Teach Westchester's Next Generation Of Singers

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – He made his name famous on “American Idol,” has performed in famed concert halls and earned Tony nominations for his work on Broadway.

Now, Constantine Maroulis is to bring his talent and knowledge to The Cortlandt School of Performing Arts.

Known a the “handsome Rock n’ Roll guy,” from season 4 of “American Idol,” Maroulis has toured on the “American Idol Live Tour,” and played lead roles in Broadway productions like “The Wedding Singer” and “Rock of Ages.”

On Jan. 28, he will lead a four-hour class, instructing hopeful entertainers on topics like auditioning, promotion, material and the importance of an organized repertoire, managing a career and which training and educational choices may be appropriate, according to a statement from organizers.

Space in the class at the School of Performing Arts, 24 Old Albany Post Road, is limited, organizers said while urging interested performers to register online.

According to the statement, Maroulis – who has two LPs, “Here I Come,” and “She’s Just Rock N’ Roll,” available now – will also be offering attendees at the class one-on-one pointers while instructing in the school's “intimate setting.”
