Fashion Week's Hottest Trend Emerges

Fashion Week is barely 24 hours old and already the biggest trend of 2012 has emerged: designers, labels and couture houses live streaming from the runway.

You read earlier this week about designers like Rebecca Minkoff and Nicole Miller who will stream shows like on a dedicated YouTube channel.

Joining the live streaming from the catwalk craze is bebeBLACK, the runway collection from the American design house whose trademark is confident, sexy style. bebeBLACK will make runway shows available as part of STYLE360, which will stream directly through bebe’s Facebook page.

The buzz from bebe is that the label will feature its “Dark Angel” collection for fall 2012. Inspired by the sirens of film noir features, the collection “pays homage to the powerful seductress,” according to a spokeswoman for bebe. Expect to see pencil skirts, corset seaming and plenty of emphasis on the feminine figure.

The sleek W Hotel group is also getting in on the action with its own “Fashion Next” program. W will feature presentations and shows by Bibhu Mohapatra, Nomia, Rochambeau, Suzanne Rae and Haus Alkire streaming live on Facebook.

There is still plenty of runway to walk this Fashion Week, but it’s probably safe to say we’ve entered a brave, new live streaming world of style. And it’s a trend that’s likely to have some serious staying power.
