CORTLANDT, N.Y. — Here's a list of events happening this Labor Day weekend.
Friday, Aug. 31
Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival: 8 p.m.-9 p.m. Catch the Garrison-based festival’s final weekend, which runs through Sept. 2. This year’s festival features “Love’s Labour’s Lost,” “Romeo and Juliet,” and “The 39 Steps” at the Boscobel House and Gardens. Ticket prices vary; check the festival’s website for more information.
Saturday, Sept. 1
“Visions of Nature: Shouts and Whispers”: 1 p.m. This art exhibit showcases the acrylic paintings of Joann Zwolski, and will be on display at the Hendrick Hudson Free Library through the month of September. The library is located at 185 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose.
“Vince’s Pixes”: 1 p.m. On display at the Hendrick Hudson Free Library, this exhibit of photography by Vince Ferraro will be on view for the month of September in the second-floor corridor. The library is located at 185 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose.
The Spinners: 8 p.m. The up-tempo R&B band will perform at the Paramount Center in Peekskill. The Grammy-winning band has sold more than 60 million records. Admission is $30. The Paramount Center is located at 1008 Brown St., Peekskill.
Sunday, Sept. 2
Garage Door-Opener Installation Workshop: 1 p.m. If you’re looking to save some cash by installing your own garage door-opener or you just want the satisfaction of doing it yourself, the Home Depot in Mohegan Lake is offering a free workshop to learn the basics. The class will cover keyless entry pads, garage door-opener assembly and maintenance. The Home Depot is located at 3131 E. Main St., Mohegan Lake.
West Point Band: 6 p.m. West Point presents a free concert and fireworks show celebrating Labor Day weekend. Family-geared events begin at 1 p.m., with civil war re-enactors and other activities.
