CORTLANDT, N.Y. - The Buchanan-Cortlandt-Croton 9/11 Memorial will be dedicated on the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11. A Democratic primary will take place in the Village of Croton on Thursday, voting day was moved so it would not interfere with Sept. 11.  

Monday, Sept. 10

Cortlandt Town Board Work Session 7 p.m. The town board will discuss current issues in the town. There will not be a portion for public comment. The meeting will take place at Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady St., Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.  

Croton Village Trustees Work Session  7:30 p.m. The village board of trustees will discuss current events in the Village of Croton. There will not be a portion dedicated to public comment. The meeting will take place at the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building, 1 Van Wyck St., Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.

Sugar Seduction Workshop 11 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. If your sugar cravings are sabotaging your efforts to lose weight, check out this workshop with a certified nutrition and health counselor at the Ajna Wellness Center, 18 Old Post Road S., Croton-on-Hudson. Admission is $25.

Intro to Tai Chi Chuan 12 p.m. Many believe this ancient Chinese martial art can help reduce stress and improve balance. This introductory-level class takes place at the Ajna Wellness Center, 18 Old Post Road S., Croton-on-Hudson. Admission is $40 at the door or $35 in advance.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

Buchanan-Cortlandt-Croton 9/11 Memorial Dedication 2:30 p.m. Dedication of the memorial, which utilizes a 14-foot, one-ton piece of steel from the north World Trade Center tower, will take place at Croton Landing. Those wishing to participate in the ceremony are asked to meet in the final parking lot on Elliot Way and walk the half-mile to the memorial, a van will ferry those unable to walk to the memorial site.

Croton Planning Board Meeting 8 p.m. The board will meet to discuss current and proposed developments in the village. The meeting will take place at the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building, 1 Van Wyck St., Croton-on-Hudson.

Wednesday, Sept. 12

Hendrick Hudson Board of Education Meeting 7:30 p.m. The Hendrick Hudson School District Board of Education will hold a regular meeting at the Hendrick Hudson High School Library, 2166 Albany Post Road, Montrose. The meeting will have a section for public comment.

Everything You Wanted to Know About College Applications 7 p.m. Two counselors from the for-profit College Connection service will discuss how to tackle the college essay, applications and what admissions officers look for. This event is free, and takes place at the Hendrick Hudson Free Library, 185 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose.

Thursday, Sept. 13

Croton Democratic Primary 6 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. A rare Democratic primary will take place before the new date for the village general election. The Village of Croton holds its first general election in November, rather than the traditional March election season for villages, after a referendum moved the date of the general election to align with county, state and federal elections.

Adult Contemporary Dance Program 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. This free trial class welcomes absolute beginners to move to music, without feeling intimidated. The class takes place at Pilates on Hudson, 8 John Walsh Blvd., Peekskill. The five-class workshop begins Sept. 27, with a drop-in rate of $20, or $90 to enroll in the five-class series.
