Monday, Sept. 3
Labor Day: Check out our list of restaurants and grocery stores that are opened and close today. Labor Day is a federal holiday, and most government institutions, including libraries and the Department of Motor Vehicles, are closed.
Labor Day Antique Fair: 10 a.m. Lasdon Park in Somers holds its 28th Annual Antiques Fair. The park is located at 2610 Amawalk Road (Route 35), Somers. Admission to the fair is $7 for adults, children 13 years old and younger are free. For more information visit the website, or call 914-273-4667.

Croton-Harmon School District School Open: All three schools in the Croton-Harmon School District will welcome students for the first time for the 2012-2013 school year. Good luck!
Croton Board of Trustees Meeting: 8 p.m. The Croton Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting, including portion for public comment, at the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building, 1 Van Wyck St., Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.
Newborn Breast Feeding Class: 6:30 p.m. This meeting blends discussion, lecture and visual aids to present evidence based information, on what Hudson Valley Hospital Center (HVHC) says is the "natural process as well as learned art," of breast feeding. Registration for this class is required, call 914-734-3257. The class will take place in the Wagner Conference Room at HVHC, 1980 Crompond Road, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.

Hendrick Hudson School District School Open: All five schools in the Hendrick Hudson School District will welcome students for the first time, in the 2012-2013 school year.
Cortlandt Planning Board: 7 p.m. The town of Cortlandt Planning Board will hold a regular meeting. There will be a portion of the meeting devoted to public comment. Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady St., Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.
Thursday, Sept. 6
Croton-Harmon Board of Education Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The Croton-Harmon Board of Education will hold its first regular meeting after the beginning of the school year, in the Croton-Harmon High School Community Room, 36 Old Post Road South, Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.
Croton Free Library Mural Opening 7 p.m. A mural painted in the Croton Free Library's Children's Room will have its official opening. The mural, painted by Croton resident Ed Radford, will is larger than life and "full of love," according to Croton illustrator Rob Shepperson. Refreshments will be served.
