"A Christmas Carol": 6 p.m. The retelling of Charles Dickens' Christmas classic will be performed by middle and high school students at the Croton Academy of Arts, 8-B Old Post Road South, Croton. Admission is $10.

Annual Christmas Bird Count: 8 a.m. Celebrate nature by helping Teatown educators in an important census to count wintering birds. The information gathered is compiled and sent to National Audubon to monitor trends in populations and other conservation issues that impact avian health. Dress for the weather and wear hiking boots. Registration is strongly recommended as programs fill quickly. To register, call 914-762-2912 Ext. 110. Teatown Lake Reservation is at 1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining. This event is free.
"No Ordinary Child: The Silent Voices Of Christmas Speak": 2 p.m. The Peekskill Presbyterian Church describes this play as a rare look into emotions, conflicts and joys of the characters of the Christmas story - from Mary and Joseph, to the wise men and the townspeople of Nazareth and Bethlehem. Hors d'oeuvres will be served before the show. Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door. The church is at 705 South St., Peekskill.
Hanukkah Party!: 5-7 p.m. The Temple Israel of Northern Westchester is hosting games, dreidels, a latke competition, dancing and Rock Band with the Rabbi! Bring your family, friends and favorite menorah for a huge candle lighting ceremony and festive Hanukkah Celebration. The temple is at 31 Glengary Road, Croton. Croton Fire Department Candy Cane Run: 10 a.m. The Harmon, Grand Street and Washington Engine Company fire houses will begin their candy cane run, where Santa Claus visits neighborhoods around Croton in fire apparatus to pass out candy canes. See the attached document to look for what time Santa visits your neighborhood.
The Mitzvah Project: 2:30-4:45 p.m. Families with children in elementary school can participate in hands-on social action by making presents and then delivering them to children at the Edenwald Center at The Cottage Schools in Pleasantville. This event takes place at the JCC Rosenthal, at 600 Bear Ridge Road, Pleasantville. Call 914-741-0333 Ext. 15 to register.

"The Fourth Wiseman": 3 p.m. Yorktown Community Church presents this retelling of "The Fourth Wiseman." Purchasing tickets in advance is recommended as tickets have sold out in the past.
