Monday, Jan. 28

Cortlandt Town Board Work Session: 7 p.m. The Cortlandt Town Board meets to discuss current events in the town. This meeting does not have a portion dedicated to public comment. The meeting takes place at Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady St., Cortlandt Manor.

Croton Village Board Work Session: 7:30 p.m. Members of the Croton Board of Trustees meet to discuss current events in the village. There is not a portion of this meeting dedicated to public comment. The meeting takes place at the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building, 1 Van Wyck St., Croton.

Tuesday, Jan. 29

Winter Tales and Edible Craft: 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. Hear a winter tale followed by a simple edible craft, at the Hendrick Hudson Free Library. This event is not recommended for children with food allergies, and is recommended for children in kindergarten through second grade.  Register by phone by calling 914-739-5654, or visit the library at 185 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose.

Aroma Fitness: 6:30 p.m. This unique fitness class blends essential oils with meditation, breathing exercises and stretching. Barbara Smith teaches the six-week course. Wednesday, Jan. 30

National Puzzle Day Challenges: 6:30 p.m. Celebrate National Puzzle Day with an assortment of challenging puzzles with book prizes awarded at the Hendrick Hudson Free Library. Snacks and beverages are provided, this event is for teens in grade 6 and up. Register by calling 914-739-5654 or visit the library at 185 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose.

Thursday, Jan. 31

Matinee Movie: 1:30 p.m. The Hendrick Hudson Free Library shows "Men In Black III," which continues the Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones series. The library is at 185 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose.

Eagle Monitoring at Verplanck Dock: 3 to 5 p.m. Continuing Thursdays in January and February, join members of the Sawmill River Audubon at the Verplanck Dock, at 2 Riverview Ave., to monitor bald eagles coming to roost across the river at Stony Point and downriver on the north side of Georges Island. Spotting scopes are available, although binoculars are helpful. Dress warmly.
