Monday, Feb. 4

Cortlandt Town Board Work Session: 7:30 p.m. The Cortlandt Town Board meets to discuss current events. This meeting does not have a portion dedicated to public comment. The meeting takes place at Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady St., Cortlandt.

Croton Board of Trustees: 8 p.m. The Croton Board of Trustees meets to conduct legislative business. This meeting takes place at the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building, 1 Van Wyck St., Croton.

Tuesday, Feb. 5

Winter Tales and Edible Craft: 4:15-5:15 p.m. Listen to a winter story followed by a simple edible craft. This event is not recommended for children with food allergies and is suitable for children in kindergarten through second grade. Register by calling the Hendrick Hudson Free Library at 914-737-5654, or visit the library at 185 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose. 

Cortlandt Planning Board: 7 p.m. The board meets to discuss current development in the town. The meeting takes place at Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady St., Cortlandt.

Chinese New Year and Culture: 7-8 p.m. Celebrate the Year of the Snake and China's 5,000-year-old civilization through classical Chinese dance and music. This event is for adults and teens in grades 6 and older. Register by calling or visiting the Hendrick Hudson Free Library. 

Wednesday, Feb. 6

Earring Design with Joan Lloyd: 3 p.m. Teens can design their own beaded earrings from a vast array of colored beads with teacher Joan Lloyd. Students also have the opportunity to donate a pair of earrings to a local women's shelter. This event is for teens in grades six and older. Register by calling 914- 271-6612, or visit the Croton Free Library at 171 Cleveland Drive, Croton.

Book and a Blanket: 6:30 p.m. Hendrick Hudson Free Library's blanket donation program continues. Knitters and crocheters are welcome to make simple blanket patterns with supplies provided by the library; the blankets will be donated to newborn babies at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center. 

Thursday, Feb. 7

Gilda's Club Open House: 6 p.m. Organizers of the cancer support group will be at the Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Cancer Center, 1978 Crompond Road, Cortlandt Manor, to answer questions about the cancer support group's new location at Hudson Valley Hospital Center.

Croton-Harmon Board of Education Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The board likely will discuss aspects of the budget and will take legislative action on business matters. A portion of this meeting is dedicated to public comment. The meeting is at Croton-Harmon High School, 36 Old Post Road South, Croton.
