Town Of Cortlandt Hosting Public Forum On Indian Point Closure

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Residents concerned about the impact the closure of Indian Point will have on the Town of Cortlandt and the surrounding area will have a chance to ask questions and learn about the challenges during a special forum on Thursday.

The Town of Cortlandt will host a public meeting to discuss the impacts associated with the closure of Indian Point.

The forum, at 7 p.m. at the Muriel H. Morabito Community, 29 Westbrook Drive, Cortlandt Manor, will address such topics as the loss of jobs, reclamation of the site, the effect on taxes, as well as other issues.

Those attending the event include Town of Cortlandt Supervisor Linda Puglisi and the Town Board; Congresswoman Nita Lowey representative Sara Levine; state Sen. Terrance Murphy; state Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, and a host of local government and economic leaders.
