CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The TOUGHMAN Half Iron championship comes to Croton Point Park on Saturday, Sept. 6 and Sunday, Sept. 7.
The race is the culmination of six national qualifying races. The event consists of a 1.2 mile swim in the Hudson River, a 56-mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run.
A TOUGHKids race, which is the culmination of 10 national qualifiers will ve held on Saturday.
More than 1,000 adults ages 18-70 and more than 800 kids ages 4-14 from all over the United States will compete for prizes and awards.
Saturday's kids race begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. There will hot food, live music and a health expo as well as family friendly events at the park all weekend long.
Sunday's race starts at 6:45 a.m. and will have seven waves of age group athletes. There will be a full barbecue and live music performances from 1-5 p.m.
The park entrance is closed to incoming cars at 5:15 a.m. and re-opens at 8:30 p.m. Visit the race website for more information.
