Daniel Musgrave, 84, Typesetter, Of Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. – Daniel Musgrave of Yonkers died Friday, July 13. He was 84.

Born July 14, 1927, in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of Daniel and Margaret Curtin Musgrave. He graduated from Saunders High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Musgrave worked as a typesetter for the New York Daily News for more than 20 years before retiring in 1987. On Sept. 6, 1958, he married Mary Yandrich at Holy Spirit Church in the Bronx. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Church in Yonkers.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Debbie (Edward) Ciancio of Yorktown Heights; a son, Daniel (Dawn Romeo) Musgrave III of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; a brother, Gerard Musgrave of Yorktown Heights; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home in Yonkers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Church. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
