Bank Robber Nabbed Shortly After Heist At Long Island Chase Branch

A Long Island man has been arrested for an alleged bank robbery, the fourth in the span of a week.

Darren Lindo, 36, of Roslyn Heights, was arrested following the robbery around 9:25 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the Chase Bank, located at 425 Glen Cove Road in Roslyn Heights, said the Nassau County Police.

According to detectives, Lindo allegedly entered the Chase Bank, approached the teller, and passed a note demanding money. 

The teller complied and Lindo fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

There were four employees and two customers inside the bank at the time of the robbery. There were no reported injuries, police said. 

Lindo was arrested following an investigation into the robbery, police said.

Nassau County Police could not confirm if Lindo is a suspect in three other robberies at area TD Banks in Nassau County that were all robbed by a Black male including:

  • TD Bank, Hempstead, on Tuesday, Dec. 22
  • TD Bank, Westbury, on Wednesday, Dec. 23
  • TD Bank, East Meadow, on Monday, Dec. 28 

Lindo was charged with robbery and will be arraigned on Thursday, Dec. 31 in Mineola.
