Jeffrey Sebor, 22, of Freehold was charged with drug possession and distribution following a two-week investigation by the sheriff's Bureau of Narcotics based on a tip from North Haledon police, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said.

Authorities recovered about more than a quarter-pound of marijuana with a street value of $1,500, two peanut butter pot cookies, and $316 in alleged drug proceeds, Berdnik said.

"I want [to] commend all detectives involved in this arrest and investigation," Berdnik said. "[A] college student should have legitimate jobs while receiving an education."

Sebor was released on a court summons.
