Residents at the Seabury at Fieldhome are getting creative and making thank you hearts for all of the veterans at the VA Hospital in Montrose. Some of the hearts will go to soldiers overseas as well.
The community is invited to join. Last year, the drive created and presented 1,900 hearts. The goal is creating even more this year.
Residents are invited to come create a heart or write a thank you note at the Seabury at Fieldhome on or before Feb. 11 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. All cards and decorating materials will be supplied. Groups and organizations are welcome to visit the Seabury as well.
Residents and organizations who cannot come to the Seabury at Fieldhome are welcome to create their own hearts and drop them off. The hearts should be 8.5 x 11 inches or smaller. Participants can include all of their contact info on the back of the heart for soldiers and veterans. All hearts created outside of the Seabury must be delivered by Feb. 11.
Presentation of the hearts will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13 at the Seabury at Fieldhome. Throughout the event, live music will be performed by Deena Goidel. Light refreshments will be available.
