'Deadly Sins' Are On Display At Seven Westchester, Fairfield Museums

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Art work depicting “The Seven Deadly Sins” is being displayed through the first major partnership of the Fairfield/Westchester Museum Alliance, according to The New York Times.

The following museums are participating in the effort, according to Bruce Museum’s Fairfield/Westchester Museum Alliance website.

  • The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, Conn.
  • Bruce Museum, Greenwich, Conn.
  • Hudson River Museum, Yonkers, N.Y.
  • Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, Peekskill, N.Y.
  • Katonah Museum of Art, Katonah, N.Y.
  • Neuberger Museum of Art, Purchase, N.Y.
  • Wave Hill, Bronx, N.Y.

As of Wednesday, the only show open so far is “The Seven Deadly Sins: Lust” exhibit at Peekskill’s Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, The New York Times reported.

“The Seven Deadly Sins: Lust” will be on display until Sunday, July 26 at the museum, 1701 Main St., Peekskill. It is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, as well as by appointment Tuesdays and Thursdays.

No one under 18 will be admitted to the exhibit.

The other six exhibits will open by October, according to the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art website.

An eighth member of the alliance, the Barnum Museum in Bridgeport, Conn., will not be participating in “The Seven Deadly Sins” because the facilities are being renovated, The New York Times reported.
