Cortlandt's Hob-Goblin Parade Welcomes Costumed Characters

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- The Town of Cortlandt Department of Recreation and Conservation and the Cortlandt Town Center are looking for witches, ghosts and more for its 38th Annual Hob-Goblin Costume Parade and Contest Saturday, Oct. 25th. The event begins at 1 p.m. sharp in front of the movie theater.

The parade is open to everyone in costume, ages two to 14. Preschoolers marching in the parade must be accompanied by an adult in costume. The T.J. Tomblin Band will lead the event; line-up is at 12:45 p.m.

Trophies will be awarded to all children in costume and free treats will be available. For more information, contact the Town of Cortlandt Department of Recreation and Conservation at 914-734-1050.

A 5K race at Cortlandt Waterfront park will be held prior to the parade, starting at 9:30 a.m. Pre-registration (by Oct. 22) is $15; race day is $20. All registrants receive a free T-shirt and are encouraged to register between 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. on the day of the race. Call 914-734-1058 for more information.
